ABOUT CRIME MAPPING
Crime mapping is done by the Akron Police Department Planning and Research department. The officers and civilian employees of this department use Geographical Information System software called ArcInfo to create crime maps and track crime data throughout the city. These maps are used by the department to identify target areas for enforcement and to track and identify crime trends.
VIEWING CRIME MAPS
These maps are in PDF format and you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. When you view a PDF file, the Acrobat Reader will open the file within your browser just like it was a web page. To save or print the file, choose either option from the Acrobat File menu, or click one of the toolbar buttons as shown below. More about the Acrobat Reader.
