Relations officers manage the department's community
outreach
programs including Neighborhood Block Watch Programs,
Business and Residential Crime Surveys, the Community
Oriented Policing (C.O.P.S.) program, Akron Police Explorers,
and provides police
recruitment information.
Community
Relations also offers several safety educational programs
that are geared for various audiences including children,
adults, senior citizens, and special groups. Some of the
